2..22.13 … listen to the rhythm of the falling rain …

“Solvitur Ambulando” – It is solved by walking, 2013 Lenten labyrinth walks,  Avondale Presbyterian Church, 2013 NAPC Lenten Devotional, 2013 FPC-Charlotte Lenten Devotional:
Well, I waited all day to walk because I wanted to avoid the rain and the cold. At 4 PM, it was 37° in Charlotte. This was  a bad winter weather day in Charlotte. 🙂
But there was no avoiding it. So I  headed out to walk Avondale. I have put on my rain boots/snow boots because my warm weather flats will not work today.

From NAPC Lenten Devotional …
As Christians we need to realize that there is nothing that we need to add or subtract from the Gospel, and that what we read in it is true. As well, we need to make sure that those who hear our words and see our lives lived out, and know we are Christian, do not receive a garbled message about who Christ is. If we want to be faithful witnesses to Christ, we need to make sure that the Good News is getting through loud and clear, and not overcome by competing or contrary messages.
And from the FPC-Charlotte Lenten Devotional …
The first verse of Scripture that I remember memorizing as a child was Matthew 22:37.  “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy soul and all thy mind.”  (KJV)  Little did I know that as Jesus spoke these words that he turned to the very heart of Scripture in the Book of the Law.
“And now, Israel, what does the Lord require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and to keep the commandments of the Lord.”  (Deut. 10:12)
Love, of course, is the central theme of this passage.  Although we often think of love as an emotion, as when we love another human being, the love of God involves much more – reverence and obedience.  This kind of love is total commitment in loving response to God’s great goodness to us.
It was interesting, despite the rain, I can still hear the chimes ringing and the birds chirping. The birds didn’t seem to mind the rain  nearly as much as I did.  Also, the grass, moss and weeds are all bright green … each a different shade …

Blessings  on this rainy day …
