8.28.13 … I Have A Dream Speech – August 28, 1963 …

Martin Luther King Jr., March on Washington, 1963: The 50th anniversary coverage is interesting.  The Washington Post had one mention of the speech in the 5th paragraph of an article on page A15.  I have been reading Taylor Branch’s 3 volume series on the Civil Rights Movement.  I am amazed at how little I know … I was 3 at the time … but still I know so little.  It’s a good time to read Taylor Branch’s books.

Google is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech with Wednesday’s Doodle.

In Wednesday’s Doodle, civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is seen from behind reciting his speech to the crowd, surrounded by his famous words.
